NEMA Communications Mission and Values
Communications Group Mission Statement
To provide emergency/disaster services to the City of Naperville and it’s mutual aid partners in the areas of preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery as associated with volunteer Emergency Management activities. This will include establishment and providing of ancillary communications during times of limited communications, including disasters and emergencies. To establish ancillary communications when requested during declared Naperville Fire Department Box Alarms and city-wide or mutual aid incidents. To provide logistics support to requesting agencies during emergency situations. To provide weather spotting services during potentially damaging weather.
Communications Group Values Statement
Communications Group volunteers will respond, when requested, to provide communications or logistics support during emergency situations, consistent with provided training and personal safety. Communications Group volunteers will be trained in and knowledgeable of emergency communications procedures and practices. The Communications Group will be able to deploy an ARCT Type 1 unit or multiple ARCT Type 3 units. Communications Group volunteers will maintain mandatory training, service levels and established levels of personal commitment and response.
